I don't even like Mariah Carey (gasp!) but' Oh Santa!' is wonderful. The 3rd song...Cast of Glee...sounded so much like Shawn Cassidy I had to check the playlist. Thanks, Scott! I'm only a quarter of the way through the album and it has brought a huge smile to my face.

I could not stand 110 degrees! Minnesota winters are not that bad anymore either, and I can stand cold easier than heat like that. Unfortunately, it's not just the heat island effect, it's also the global temps are raising faster in the deserts than in places like MN. Arizona will probably be an unlivable desert in 10-20 years with temps over 110 more than half the year. This is actually what some climate studies have found.

Wow,I can't even imagine having to endure 110 degree weather.I live in michigan and I can barely survive 95 degree weather.

I think you're right! The concept of the "heat island effect" is fascinating. I don't live in Phx any longer (now I'm in LA) but I moved there in 1989 when we had the day of 126 heat (so hot planes couldn't take off!) Even so, when going to the Mesa Ampitheater, for instance, one traveled through lots of cotton fields. Now it's all houses. I moved to Sedona quite awhile ago, but definitely noticed how much hotter everything was when I was in Phoenix for concerts, airport runs or pride.
